1. Bring Value:
• Provide senior-level leadership to develop and grow the E&I Project Group in alignment with H+M’s strategic objectives.
• Drive operational excellence in safety, quality, estimating, productivity, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.
• Establish standardized work processes, productivity benchmarks, and estimating benchmarks for the E&I execution team.
• Serve as the technical and operational authority for E&I estimating and construction across all H+M projects.
• Support business development and preconstruction efforts to ensure accurate estimating, risk identification, and constructability optimization.
• Lead the long-term transition plan from hybrid subcontract/self-perform model to a mature, scalable E&I capability while preserving key subcontractor relationships.
2. Group Leadership & Accountability:
• Full accountability for the E&I Construction Project Group.
• Build and maintain strong Client relationships.
• Develop manpower strategy (estimating, superintendents, foremen, craft).
• Build repeatable execution systems (planning, productivity tracking, QA/QC, turnover).
• Develop long-term growth roadmap for the division.
• Review, optimize and approve E&I self-perform estimates built by your team.
3. EPC Integration & Execution:
• Lead E&I self-perform execution primarily on EPC projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction leadership to improve integration and reduce interface risk.
• Establish estimating systems and process for E&I bulks, tagged items, small materials, consumables and indirect labor and equipment.
• Ensure material readiness planning and constraint removal processes are in place.
4. Subcontractor Strategy & Relationship Management:
• Maintain and strengthen preferred E&I subcontractor relationships.
• Lead self-perform vs Subcontract strategy and selection.
• Define hybrid workshare models during first years of expansion.
• Ensure H+M is not positioned as a direct competitor on E&I-only construction bids during stabilization period.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals and make recommendations for award.
• Oversee subcontract performance and alignment with H+M standards.
5. Quality Oversight:
• Lead and work with H+M Quality Department to:
• Establish and enforce E&I quality standards and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Oversee megger testing, continuity testing, grounding verification, torque verification, loop documentation, and commissioning support processes.
• Ensure turnover documentation is built progressively and meets client requirements.
• Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with drawings, vendor documents, codes, and standards.
6. Engineering Review:
• Review engineering drawings and deliverables to ensure complete installation packages.
• Identify design gaps, vendor discrepancies, and field constructability concerns early.
• Lead coordination meetings between engineering and field teams to eliminate rework and delays.
• 15+ years of industrial electrical & instrumentation construction experience.
• Ability to manage subcontractor strategy without damaging partner relationships.
• Strong E&I estimating and bid conditioning experience.
• Demonstrated experience in E&I estimating using Accubid.
• Strong EPC execution background preferred.
• Deep knowledge of industrial E&I installation practices and commissioning processes.
• Experience developing labor units and productivity tracking systems.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, grounding standards, and industrial testing protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• Demonstrated experience building or scaling a self-perform construction division.
• Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds

• Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects
Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical office setting as well as an indoor/outdoor industrial manufacturing or refinery setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment. This job demands the use of typical industrial personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment as needed.
