• Establish design criteria for mechanical data sheets, prepare procurement specifications, evaluate bids, and manage contracts for heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, heaters, boilers, turbines and water treating equipment.
• Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection with supportive material.
• Collects, assimilates, and manages data for mechanical engineering work.
• Prepares engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
• Demonstrate superior engineering skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines.
• Works with client to resolve problems.
• Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering as needed.
• 5+ years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial design.
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
• Previous relevant EPC company experience
• Possess an advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable Codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.
• Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with procurement, project controls, construction project managers, and clients.
• Must have a proven track record of accomplishment as a design engineer on industrial projects
• Strong interpersonal skills and capable of establishing respect and credibility through actions, communications, understanding and personal presence.
• Ability to work with others to achieve job goals
• Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Sit for long periods of time
• Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
• Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects
Remote and onsite work. Visits to job sites may be required on occasion as needed.
