Estimating & Proposal Development
• Prepare detailed estimates for industrial E&I construction projects.
• Review RFQs, RFPs, drawings, specifications, P&IDs, one-line diagrams, and scope documents.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and clarifications.
• Support proposal development and bid submissions.
Cost Estimating & Planning
• Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, indirect, and general condition estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop execution assumptions, staffing plans, and pricing strategies.
Risk & Project Support
• Participate in estimate reviews, bid strategy, constructability, and risk assessments.
• Develop conceptual, ROM, budget, FEED, and detailed estimates.
• Support change order pricing and estimate validation during project execution.
• Maintain historical cost data, productivity benchmarks, and estimating standards to improve estimating accuracy.
Business Development
• Support client meetings, proposal presentations, and market analysis.
• Assist with continuous improvement of estimating tools and processes.
• Promote H+M's self-perform E&I capabilities.
• 5+ years of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation construction experience.
• 3+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction.
• Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, labor productivity, and crew composition.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in EPC, petrochemical, refining, LNG, power generation, manufacturing, or chemical processing industries.
• Experience estimating self-perform E&I construction projects.
• Proficiency with estimating and scheduling software such as Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, InEight, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
• Experience in field supervision, project management, procurement, or EPC project delivery.
• Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Sit for long periods of time
• Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
• Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects
Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical office setting as well as an indoor/outdoor manufacturing setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing of stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment. This job demands the use of typical manufacturing personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment as needed.
