Core Job Responsibilities
  • Understand contractual requirements and facilitate internal communication between Engineering Team and the necessary departments/disciplines
  • Key contact for technical issues and coordination between H+M, Supplier and Client
  • Develop Engineering Execution Plan with Project Team
  • Ensure project scope of work, schedule, budget, and execution plan are clearly defined and understood
  • Manage interfaces between all departments by assuring that communication, coordination, and follow-up are happening to support and meet project goals and objectives.
  • Expedite the flow of technical information.
  • Communicate scope and design changes to the Project Team
  • Manage external RFI process with Client as well as internal RFI process with construction
  • Manage project action items and deliverables
  • Recognition of change and support of Project Manager and Project Engineers through negotiation of change orders
  • Ensure key engineering steps have been executed
  • Schedule and lead constructability reviews and drive closure to resulting action items and changes
  • Provide final measures of quality control for engineering packages prior to client delivery
  • Track execution of key milestones, ensuring early identification and communication of potential issues/roadblocks
  • Utilize engineering rules of credit to track progress against budget and schedule
  • Drive timely and accurate internal reporting of project progress, compile weekly report to deliver to Project Manager
  • Ensure internal system setup for new projects has been completed and drive project estimate effort
  • Lead pre-award processes such as bid kickoff meetings and proposal reviews
  • Conduct engineering design reviews
  • Ensure adherence to document management procedures for engineering deliverables and packages
  • Forecast staffing levels required to execute assigned projects and coordinate with department managers for resource assignment
  • Monitor material quantity forecasting and trending for EPC projects
  • Develop procurement and subcontract plan with construction management, assist with requisition and RSA generation as set forth in plan
  • Monitor suppliers’ compliance with purchase order conditions
  • Actively support safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives
  • Manage project closeout activities

Essential Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering
  • 10 years industry experience with minimum 3 years of direct experience managing engineering teams or 3 years of multi discipline coordination.
  • Working knowledge of engineering packages and deliverables
  • Proven success in a Discipline Lead or Project Engineer role (preferred)
  • Understanding of cross-departmental coordination
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills
  • Well-organized with a system to ensure priorities are accomplished
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrated experience with a strong understanding of key value drivers for project delivery, and an ability to synthesize a plan to deliver the project.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining engineering schedules, progress tracking, and forecasting remaining work.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Sit for long periods of time

  • Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects

Hybrid remote and onsite work. Visits to job sites may be required on occasion as needed.
