Ensure design compliance with respective client/company specification and codes, including safety and OSHA regulations
Develop civil/structural 3D models and 2D extractions under minimal supervision utilizing AutoCAD and CADWorx
Knowledgeable of basic civil and structural material specifications to the extent that all information required for material purchase, fabrication and construction is reflected on the finished drawings.
Perform field related work collecting design information and verifying designs for tie-ins, function and clearances to existing facility.
Perform field support activities, where assigned, for engineering support during construction.
Ability to check and back check drawings produced by drafting personnel.
Interact with designers and engineers within the civil/structural group, and from other disciplines, in a team environment to create multi-discipline design packages for construction forces.
Works with client to resolve problems.
Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned by the design supervisor or department manager as needed.
Be able to identify and recommend work process improvements.
Essential Qualifications
7+ years of AutoCAD and/or CADWorx experience in heavy industrial projects
Utilize 3D laser scans (Leica Jetstream) as a modeling and design tool
Able to perform job walks to define scope of work for small civil structural only projects and complete those projects with minimal supervision
Good understanding and efficiency with standard design and drafting practices
Basic knowledge of the technical responsibilities of other disciplines associated with the total drafting, design, and 3D modeling effort
Code and Plant Specific Standard knowledge/comprehension a must

Environment
Most work time is spent in an office or home office environment. Visits to job sites may be required on occasion as needed.
